Palm held peelers have become very popular. And the main advantage of using a palm peeler instead of a traditional peeler is that you no longer need to grip the tool to use it. This is an extremely useful feature for those with fine motor skills problems or those who develop cramps when peeling large quantities.
Personally I found that the palm peeler works best on large food items as I found it difficult to see where the blade was when I was targeting a precise area to peel.
Whether you choose a traditional swivel peeler, Y-shaped peeler or palm peeler is based on personal preference. But if you want a palm peeler, then this one is one of the best.
