In our opinion, the KitchenAid stand mixer is the ultimate kitchen gadget. Sturdy. Durable. Powerful. Stylish. And the Artisan series come in many untraditional colors to match almost any kitchen color scheme.
As a mixer, the 325 watts of power can handle anything you throw at it. The unique mixing action moves around the stationary bowl while at the same time turning in the opposite direction on its own axis. Meaning it will mix faster and more thoroughly than most other electric mixers.
It comes with a flat beater, a stainless steel wire whip and a dough hook. The flat beater is ideal for most of your mixing needs. The wire whip easily infuses air into egg whites or any other creations. And the dough hook kneads any dough with little effort.
Its solid construction ensures it will last at least one lifetime. But its weight can also be difficult to lift, so rather than hiding it away in a cupboard, the ideal place for it is to show it off on your countertop.
Provided you don’t bake more than two loaves of bread at the same time, then the 5-quart capacity and 325-watt motor will suit your baking needs. Some prefer the set-head, crank-bowl model but I find it easier to get into the bowl and change attachments on the tilt head model. My recommendation would be to buy at least one additional bowl and the attachment pack to add to its versatility and usefulness.
