In our opinion, the KitchenAid stand mixer is the ultimate kitchen gadget. Sturdy. Durable. Powerful. Stylish.
As a mixer, the 250 watts of power can handle anything you throw at it. The unique mixing action moves around the stationary bowl while at the same time turning in the opposite direction on its own axis. Meaning it will mix faster and more thoroughly than most other electric mixers.
It comes with a flat beater, a stainless steel wire whip and a dough hook. The flat beater is ideal for most of your mixing needs. The wire whip easily infuses air into egg whites or any other creations. And the dough hook kneads any dough with little effort.
Its solid construction ensures it will last at least one lifetime. But its weight can also be difficult to lift, so rather than hiding it away in a cupboard, the ideal place for it is to show it off on your countertop.
While there are others with more power, 250 watts is still a lot and will be more than adequate for most people. If you bake a lot, then you’ll probably want the Artisan Series with a 5-quart capacity and 325-watt motor.
Some prefer the set-head, crank-bowl model but I find it easier to get into the bowl and change attachments on the tilt head model. My recommendation would be to buy at least one additional bowl and the attachment pack to add to its versatility and usefulness.
